Cancer patient from Mumbai dies of COVID-19 in GMCH

GUWAHATI, May 18: Gopindra Chandra Malakar, a 71-year-old patient who had returned from Mumbai and had neck cancer and also tested positive for COVID-19, passed away at 11.05 am on Monday at GMCH owing to respiratory distress.

Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said doctors did their best.

The patient's wife and son are in MMCH for suspected COVID-19.

They were shifted in the morning from Radisson hotel.
