GOLAKGANJ, May 24 � Under the mission �Shaping Dhubri district as a model centre of excellence�, a discussion was held with Sanjeeva Kumar, the Principal Secretary, Government of Assam, Department of Health and FW in his office chamber on May 12 regarding the setting up of a medical college in Dhubri.
Binoy Bhattacharjee, Director, NECARDO, Dhubri requested the Principal Secretary to look into the matter so that the medical college, the foundation stone of which was laid on February 28, 2011, can be constructed and dedicated to the service of the people of the district within this financial year. In this connection, a letter was also submitted to the Deputy Commissioner, Dhubri on May 18.
It may be mentioned that NECARDO (North East Craft and Rural Development Organisation) is the Chief Minister�s Best Community Action Award winning NGO. It is known for its pioneering contribution in the field of terracotta and pottery crafts of Assam.
