Update: 2010-09-15 00:00 GMT

GUWAHATI, Oct 20 - The All Assam Cab Operators Union which has been demanding better remuneration and working conditions from Ola and Uber, will be submitting memoranda to their managements on October 22 highlighting their grievances.

In a statement, the association said that despite repeated pleas to the managements and government authorities including the Governor, the Chief Minister and the Transport Minister, their grievances have not been addressed.

The association alleged that while the taxi owners/drivers under Ola and Uber were earning sufficiently during the initial times, subsequent lowering of incentives and induction of a large number of cars under Ola and Uber eroded their earnings drastically.

We have also resorted to agitations including a 72-hour cab bandh on May 7 besides several rounds of tripartite talks with our managements at the initiative of the Kamrup (M) Deputy Commissioner. But our grievances have not been addressed. We will submit memoranda to ANI Technology Private Limited (Ola) and Uber India Systems Private Limited (Uber) on October 22 seeking fulfilment of our legitimate demands, the statement said.
