TURA, Jan 13 - A driver and conductor of a local bus was kidnapped early this morning by suspected militants belonging to ASAK. The bus was on its way from Dikrong near Chokpot in South Garo Hills to Tura when it was stopped by armed militants who took the two at gun point, leaving the bus passengers stranded.
The bus was stopped at about 6 am today near Silkigre village, about 50 kms from here.
SP of SGH, Lakador Syiem said, �We have launched an operation to rescue the two and the search is still on. They took the duo into the nearby jungles.�
�We suspect the kidnapping to be the handiwork of ASAK�, added Syiem.
