The body of ex-rifleman Khomdram Gambhir Singh (72), a resident of Khumbong Mamang Leikai in Imphal West district, was spotted by passers-by early in the morning, sources said. He had been missing from home since last night.

Forty years after he had gone missing from his home, Gambhir Singh, a former member of the paramilitary Manipur Rifles, was traced to the streets of Mumbai in April, 2018 after a video featuring him popped up on YouTube.

Subsequently, the old man was greeted back home during a remarkable return after a Manipur Police team coordinated with their Mumbai counterparts on April 19, 2018. Since then he has been staying at his village.
