BN College starts online classes

DHUBRI, April 29 - Dhubri�s BN College, one of the premier institutes of the western Assam has started online classes for the students during the lockdown.

According to a report, the college authorities have started online classes through their website, since March 21 through which over 1,000 students have been benefited. The report said that 200 videos and 800 documents covering various subjects have been uploaded.

�We have received an encouraging response from the students as around 80 per cent students have registered their names for availing online classes,� said Principal of BN College, Dr Dhruba Chakrabortty. He added that those students are yet to get the benefit due to lack of smart handsets, will be provided later on as and when lockdown is over.

The Principal also stated that the faculty members have started taking tests of their students through various applications. �We are planning to take internal exams through the portal, where each student will have to answer an online multiple choice question sheet�, he added.

Several private institutes have also adopted the model of BN College, including the Happy Convent School, where the students access the classes on the mobile phones of their guardians.

Meanwhile, the gym instructors of the district have posted videos online asking their students to keep fit during the lockdown. Bidyut Bharali, gym instructor, posted a video on social media, with simple exercise which was appreciated by many.
