SONARI, March 16 - Tapan Kumar Gogoi, BJP candidate of Sonari LAC and Jogen Mohan, BJP candidate of Mahmora LAC, have filed their nomination papers today before the respective returning officers here. Thousands of BJP supporters took out a procession from Banfera to the deputy commissioner�s office here to rally behind both the candidates.
Tezpur: Former AGP leader Padma Hazarika, who recently joined the BJP, today filed his nomination paper as the candidate of the saffron party for Sootea LAC. He was the only candidate to file nomination paper on the first day of filing of nomination papers. He was escorted by about 500 BJP supporters in a motorcycle rally to the deputy commissioner�s office here from Sootea.
