NEW DELHI, May 13 - A joint delegation of BJP and AGP Ward Counsellors today demanded a special package of Rs 7,300 crore for development of Guwahati city.
A delegation of 13 BJP Counsellors and one from AGP, accompanied by BJP Guwahati MP Bijoya Chakravarty, called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his Parliament House Office here this afternoon.
The Counsellors further appraised the Prime Minister about the problems of Guwahati city. They mentioned, in particular, the problem of water-logging, scarcity of safe drinking water and traffic problem, Chakravarty told newsmen after the meeting.
The Prime Minister told the delegation that BJP will come to power in Assam and solve these problems, said the Lok Sabha MP.
