GUWAHATI, Sept 12 - The 91st birth anniversary of legendary musician Dr Bhupen Hazarika was celebrated in London this year too.
The function was organised by Dr Karuna Sagar Das, a non-resident Assamese, under the banner of the Srimanta Sankardeva International Centre of Cultural Affairs. Dr Das is leading the Centre since its inception.
A number of persons from Assam, including Dr Mohan Chandra Kalita, Dr Pankaj Bharali, Arundhati Barua, Dr Garima Saikia, who were present in London at that time, attended the function along with a number of non-resident Assamese people, stated a press release issued here on Tuesday.
The participants of the function remembered Dr Hazarika on the occasion and urged the authorities concerned to complete the memorial of this great soul of Assam at the earliest, the release added.
