AWU teacher dies in road accident at Jorhat

JORHAT, Sept 26 - Bokul Baruah, an Assistant Professor of Assam Women's University (AWU) at Rowriah here, died in a road accident at AT Road here on late Tuesday night.

A police source stated that Baruah, 42, while reportedly returning home (at Kenduguri in Jorhat) on a scooty after dropping a colleague at Tarajan Gayangaon reportedly lost balance when crossing a speed breaker near the Tarajan Puja Mandir at AT Road. The accident happened at around 11.15 pm. He was declared brought dead at the Jorhat Medical College and Hospital, the source said.

The deceased�s body was taken to the AWU on Wednesday where a condolence meeting was held to pay homage to the departed soul.

Baruah is originally from Makumkilla Tengapathar in Margherita sub-division of Tinsukia district.
