GUWAHATI, Aug 14 � The Assam Government today announced the lists of beneficiaries of artistes� pension, literary pension and the recipients of the literary awards for 2013-14 on the eve of the Independence Day.
According to an official press release, 20 artistes have been selected for artistes� pension at the rate of Rs 4,000 per head per month with effect from August 15, 2013. Ten beneficiaries will also receive family pension at the rate of Rs 2,000 per head per month.
The Government has also announced one-time financial grant of Rs 40,000 to 20 artistes for their distinguished contribution in the fields of art and culture. Moreover, one-time special financial assistance to 12 families of deceased artistes has also been announced. This assistance comprises an amount of Rs 40,000.
The Government also announced the names of 21 persons for literary pension for the year, while 20 persons have been selected for the literary award for the year.
The persons selected for literary pension are: Sibcharan Thakuria, Uttam Chandra Barman, Bijoy Chandra Bhagawati, Mukut Singha Phukan, Gondheswar Saikia, Sayambar Gharphalia, Dimbeswari Das, Kutubuddin Ahmed, Dr Krishna Kumar Mishra, Surath Narzary, Mukul (Ahmed) Hazarika, Bandita Phukan, Samin Kalita, Pramod Chandra Bhattacharjya, Nirupoma Goswami, Nagendra Nath Sarma, Ira Bora, Ila Borgohain, Nahendra Padun, Bhikshu Sachan Bongxa and Arun Dutta.
The persons selected for the literary award are: Govinda Talukdar, Tapas Chakraborty, Bipin Chandra Chutia, Abul Hasan Sheikh, Atul Chandra Mahanta, Nripen Deuri, Ramsakal Paswan, Dipika Baruah, Kalasana Singha, Dr Bhupendra Narayan Bhattacharya, Syed Eunish Ahmed, Bhubaneswar Sarma, Jogendra Nath Dutta, Jibakanta Nath, Dalim Phukan, Kamini Sarma Shastri, Chakradhar Haloi, Ratimohan Nath, Diptimoyeee Buragohaon Gogoi and Susha Baruah.
The persons selected for artistes� pension are: Prana Nath Borthakur, Bhula Ram Das, Punyada Bora, Ratneswar Bhuyan, Panchanan Deva Goswami, Bhuban Chandra Roy, Indeswar Pegu, Harekrishna Das, Chandra Kamal Gogoi, Sarat Chetia, Dasarath Das, Kamal Gogoi, Toseswar Buragohain, Pushpa Kamal Bordoloi, Hemanta Dutta, Nikhilesh Baruah, Upendrajit Sarma, Nilakantha Dutta, Telpung Manns (Lalung) and Jones Mahalia.
One-time special financial assistance for the benefit of the families of the deceased artistes includes the names of Dipanjali Baruah, wife of late Raseswar Baruah, Sewali Buragohain, wife of late Charu Gohain, Jyotirekha Bora, wife of late Sunil Bora, Phulkumari Mazumdar, wife of late Lakhminandan Mazumdar, Saraswati Rajbongshi, wife of late Sabeswar Rajbongshi, Renu Deka Choudhury, wife of late Bijoy Choudhury, Nisha Hazarika, wife of late Bikram Hazarika, Kalyani Daimary, wife of late Guneshwar Daimary, Pranita Gogoi Handique, wife of late Purna Handique, Labanya Dutta, wife of late Golap Dutta, Devi Bala Sutradhar, wife of late Gadadhar Das Sutradhar and Bilashini Mukherjee.
