GUWAHATI, Feb 13 - The Confederation of Indian Universities, New Delhi conferred the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award on Fr Stephen Mavely, Vice Chancellor, Assam Don Bosco University (ADBU), at the fourth International Conference on Environment and Ecology held at the Gauhati University on Monday.
The award is an international felicitation given by the Confederation as per recommendation of the International Association of Educators for World Peace (affiliated to UN, ECOSOC, DPI, and UNICEF). Under Fr Mavely, ADBU has undergone a transformation in recent years in terms of academics, infrastructure and overall development and has secured a place for itself in the preference list of the students from the North East, India and even abroad.
Fr Mavely has also been nominated as a Member, Academic Advisory Council for Massive Open Online Courses at the Consortium for Educational Communication set up by the UGC.
