PATACHARKUCHI, Sept 4 - This year�s Anundoram Borooah Award will be conferred on popular singer Zubeen Garg at a function synchronising with the celebration of freshmen social and Teacher�s Day to be held on tomorrow at the Anundoram Borooah Academy premises, Pathsala.
The award was constituted by the premier institution, Anundoram Borooah Academy in 2010 and every year it is conferred on September 5 on Teacher�s Day on a person who has made immense contributions in the field of education, culture and literature. He will be awarded Rs one lakh, citation, gamosa, seleng sador, packets of books, and a memento of the institution, informed Dr Ranjit Deka, rector-cum-principal of the institution. On the occasion, the fourth issue of the research journal titled Anundom of the institution will be released by the Editor-in-chief, Pratidin Times Nitu Mani Saikia. Moreover, Hrishikesh Goswami, Press Advisor of the Chief Minister will grace the occasion as the appointed speaker.
