GUWAHATI, Oct 6 - In Assam, the infrastructure for cancer treatment is not adequate in comparison to the number of patients. So to support the fight against cancer, I have decided to donate all the earnings from the sale of my autobiography to Deepsikha Foundation, said Dr Dulal Chandra Borkotoky during the launch of his autobiography titled The Journey here this evening.

Dr Borkotoky is a senior medical consultant and neurologist based in Assam. The book is an account of his long and incredibly eventful journey as a young boy from a position of total insignificance to a position of prominence.

Releasing the autobiography, Pradip Baruah, editor of Prantik, said, I believe that every man is a book. An autobiography is a storehouse of valuable information and it is also an attempt of self-analysis.

Moreover, speaking on the occasion, Dr Borkotoky said, The State government has taken various initiatives for cancer treatment in Assam. It is the need of the hour because number of cancer patients in the State has been rising at an alarming rate.
