GUWAHATI, Oct 28 - Assam emerged champions in men�s football while the women�s team had to be content with a runners-up finish in the 1st North East Olympic Games in Imphal today.
Assam got the better of hosts Manipur 3-0 to annex the title. Earlier they thrashed Meghalaya 4-0 to reach the final.
In women�s football, Assam reached the final by defeating Sikkim 5-3 via tie-breaker while they went down against Manipur in the final, stated an Assam Football Association press release.
