GUWAHATI, Feb 5 - Assam made it to the final of the 8th Hockey India Sub Junior Women National Hockey Championship (B Division).
In the first semifinal played at Kaliabor today, Assam handed a 7-1 drubbing to Vidarbha Hockey Association. For the host team, Khushboo Prajapati scored thrice while Maxima Xalxo and Elina Tigga scored two goals each. In the second semifinal, Hockey Coorg defeated Hockey Uttarakhand 4-3 in penalty shoot-out. Earlier, the match ended in a 2-2 draw.
The final will be played between Assam and Coorg tomorrow. Before the final, Vidarbha will square off against Uttarakhand in the play-off match for the third and fourth position.
