GUWAHATI, Nov 15 - Assam down town University signed Memorandums of Understanding with Innotech Agropostikam PA Ltd, North Eastern Regional Agricultural Marketing Corporation Ltd and Ram Electronics and Equipment, Guwahati at the Assam down town University for research collaborations recently, a press release stated.
Dr NC Talukdar, Vice Chancellor and Ashim Barman, Additional Registrar, Administration of Assam down town University and Hamendra Chandra Das, Director, Innotech Agropostikam Pvt Ltd, Manoj Kumar Das, Managing Director, North Eastern Regional Agricultural Marketing Corporation Ltd and Ranjita Pegu, Proprietor, Ram Electronics and Equipment inked the respective MoU�s with the objective of enhancing collaboration through different activities of mutual interest including research and development, technology support, AdtU developed process upscaling and product customisation and training of students/scholars and faculty members of AdtU from time to time.
Assam down town University and Agropostikam have agreed to develop collaborative research programmes, undertake extension and training programmes including establishment of incubator facilities for commercialisation of technologies, in the areas of foods and beverages, biofertilisers and biopesticides, unconventional processes for agricultural practices etc.
Assam down town University and North Eastern Regional Agricultural Marketing Corporation Ltd have agreed to jointly undertake research and project works in emerging areas of agriculture and food processing with local relevance to be carried out by the students/scholars and faculty members of AdtU and exchange scientific and technical knowhow and related expertise in expanding the modern cultivation methods, agricultural technologies; to collaborate and organise extension and outreach activities like socio-economic and welfare initiatives for rural communities in general and communities in the immediate surroundings of the AdtU campus.
Assam down town University and Ram Electronics and Equipment, Guwahati will jointly undertake research and project works in battery-operated vehicles with local relevance by the students/scholars and faculty members of AdtU and researchers/technicians from Ram Electronics and Equipment, Guwahati.
Dr NC Talukdar, Vice Chancellor gave a brief appraisal of the University and the currently ongoing research activities, future programmes and also spoke about the scope of collaboration in research, innovation and outreach with Innotech Agropostikam Pvt Ltd, North Eastern Regional Agricultural Marketing Corporation Ltd and Ram Electronics and Equipment Guwahati in the days to come. Dr NN Dutta (Chancellor), Dr NC Talukdar, Vice Chancellor, Prof Bandana Dutta (Dean of Studies), Gariasi Dutta (Resident Trustee), Ashim Barman (Additional Registrar, Administration), Manika Borah (Senior Deputy Manager, HR), Bhabajyoti Saikia, OSD to the Vice Chancellor and Nishan Kakati (Research Coordinator) of AdtU attended the function along with a number of officials from the respective organisations. The MoU signing function ended with a vote of thanks by Ashim Barman, Additional Registrar (Administration), AdtU to all the members for their participation at the meeting.
