Assam boy in top 20 of NEET; 1st in JIPMER

DIBRUGARH, June 8 - Arunangshu Bhattacharyya, son of Samarjeet Bhattacharyya and Aparajita Bhattacharyya of Beltola, Guwahati has made it to the top 20 list in National Eligibility-Cum- Entrance Test (NEET). He obtained 690 marks and was placed in the All India Rank 19.

He is also an all India topper under the general category in Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER) with 99.99 percentile. He secured the 1st position in the overall merit list. Arunangshu Bhattacharyya will also be representing India in International Biology Olympiad to be held in Szeged, Hungary in mid July, family sources informed.

He happens to be a grand child of Dhirendra Nath Chakravartty, journalist and former director of Assam DIPR. The parents of Arunangshu are engineers at Reliance Petroleum in Surat, Gujarat.
