Assam bags India Today awards

GUWAHATI, Nov 23 - The annual �India Today State of the States Conclave and Awards � 2019� has adjudged Assam in the �Most Improved Big State � Overall� and �Most Improved Big State for Economy� categories.

On behalf of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Industries and Commerce Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary received both the awards from Prakash Javadekar, Minister of Forest, Environment and Climate Change, Information and Broadcasting in New Delhi on Friday.

The India Today �State of the States� study is an attempt to find out which of India�s States offers its citizens the best opportunities, both at work and outside.

The categories based on which the States are judged include economy, agriculture, education, healthcare, infrastructure, inclusive development, law and order, governance, entrepreneurship, environment and cleanliness.
