Assam Association Mumbai fetes, encourages Jayashree

GUWAHATI, June 18 - The Assam Association Mumbai on June 15 last held a programme to encourage and support Jayashree Gogoi, the child artist from Assam, who has been selected in the top 5 and has qualified for the final round of Super Dancer chapter 3 of Sony TV. The Assamese diaspora of Mumbai gathered with all enthusiasm to receive and encourage the talented dancer Jayashree. The seven-year-old little star from Nagsankar, Assam was accompanied by her mother Mandira Gogoi.

Devashish Sharma, Joint Resident Commissioner, Government of Assam took part in the programme and spoke a few encouraging words for Jayashree.

Dr Jyotirmoi Das, the president of Assam Association Mumbai welcomed Jayashree with a memento, gamosa and a bouquet. Shyama Prasad Handique, Damboru Tamuli, Jadhav Sharma, Debjyoti Borgohain greeted Jayashree with a bouquet on behalf of different Assamese organisations of Mumbai. The ladies group of Panel, Kharghar areas performed Bihu and Jhumur dance to entertain Jayashree and the team from Sony TV, a press release stated.

Aparup Borpuzari, Prafulla Borgohain, Binud Saikia, Rajani Borgohain, Bidyut Bikas Chutia, Rajesh Puri, Pranjal M Bharadwaj, Pradip Nazir, Arun Phukan and Bikramjit Gohain Baruah offered gamosas and flowers to Jayashree and wished her a grand success at the grand finale to be held on June 23. Omar Majid, general secretary, Assam Association Mumbai ably anchored the whole programme.
