GUWAHATI, July 16 - A food safety awareness meet was held at the Circuit House here on Thursday. The meet, presided over by the Commissioner and Secretary of Food and Civil Supplies, Sanjeeva Kumar, was attended by traders of the capital city, including many government officials.
Speaking on the occasion, Kumar called upon the traders to follow all the food safety norms as mandated by the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, including getting their registration and permits.
The meet was also addressed by State food analyst Anupam Gogoi, Food Safety Officer Samiran Baruah and other officials, who spoke on various aspects of food safety.
