Arunachal urges Assam to halt construction

ITANAGAR, June 28 � Arunachal Pradesh Assembly Speaker Nabam Rebia today urged neighbouring Assam to stop construction of a beat house at Ragaso border village under Taraso Circle of Papum Pare district.

Urging Assam to maintain status-quo of the agreements signed between the two neighbours along disputed areas, Rebia said �The Supreme Court has also been hearing the report of single-man Local Boundary Commission on Assam-Arunachal inter-State boundary dispute.�

Rebia, who represents Doimukh Assembly constituency under which Taraso falls, expressed hope the situation will continue to be normal in the areas since the initiative between the two States. � PTI
