AR fetes Jamuna Boro

TEZPUR, Oct 27 - Persisting with efforts of encouraging and according recognition to the achievements of youths, 20 Assam Rifles felicitated Jamuna Boro for winning a bronze medal in the Women�s World Boxing Championship.

Jamuna Boro, who hails from village Belsiri near Batachipur area in Sonitpur district started her career as a Wushu player and later was spotted by the Sports Authority of India. She started participating in many national and international boxing tournaments and bagged a gold medal at the 2nd Indian Open International Boxing Tournament held in Guwahati. She also won a gold medal at the 23rd President�s Cup 2019 Boxing International Open Tournament held in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara.

Jamuna was felicitated with a medal and a certificate of appreciation at her new residence at Monojuli (Dhekiajuli).

Assam Rifles also greeted Jamuna Boro and her family on the occasion of Diwali and exchanged sweets and blessings. The proud parents of Jamuna Boro and locals of Dhekiajuli applauded the efforts of Assam Rifles.
