Angita Gowtam Deb of Dibrugarh secures 97% in CBSE Exam

DIBRUGARH, May 29 - Angita Gowtam Deb of Sampoorna Kendra Vidyalaya here secured 97% in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Board Class X examination and became one of the highest scorers from the region with an aggregate 485 marks out of 500 (97%).

Angita Gowtam Deb secured 94, 97, 97, 99 and 98 in English, Hindi, Mathematics, Science and Social Science respectively. She is the daughter of Anup Dey and Sumita Dey of PN Road, Dibrugarh.

The school produced one of the best results this year with cent percent results and with 79, the highest number of students securing first division. Seven students scored above 90% and 37 students scored above 80%. Only six students were placed in the second division. One Saubhagya Bawri scored 100 out of 100 in Mathematics, the school Director informed The Assam Tribune.

From Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, among 78 who appeared for the exam, 76 passed. Manjeeta Baro and Mayurdeep Sonowal secured 94%. 53 students secured above 60% of which five students secured above 90%. Results of other institutions could not be collected.

Our Rangiya Correspondent adds: All the 41 students who appeared in the All India Secondary School Examination (AISSE) from class X of SERS Public School of the locality have come out with flying colours. Fifteen out of the total candidates have been adjudged as toppers/distinction holders on the basis of CGPA score as per the newly-incorporated rules of CBSE. Meanwhile, Diksha Kashyap has secured cent percentage marks in two subjects including Social Science with a total of 496 marks out of 500. Principal BD Costa expressed his happiness over the results and said that it was the cumulative endeavour of the students and teachers of the school.

Our Biswanath Chariali Correspondent adds: The Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Sonitpur situated at Biswanath Chariali shone with hundred percentage result in the 10th examination conducted by CBSE, the result of which declared today.

Nibaran Saikia topped with 96 per cent followed by Shatabdi Rajkhowa with 95.2 percent and Darshana Handique with 93.4. Another school, The East Indian School had also performed well where 9 got distinction, 8 got star marks and 24 got first division. Shradha G Koushik of the school secured 100 in Social Science while Ahimansu Kashyap topped with 93.5 percent. On the other hand, the students of Biswanath Jnan Bharati School also showed hundred percent result out of which Tinashri Devi secured 97 per cent, Chitashri Phukan secured 96.4 per cent and Chirin Amin managed to secure 93.3 per cent. Our Udalguri Correspondent adds: Kendriya Vidyalaya of Udalguri performed well, the privately-managed Maharshi Vidyalaya of Udalguri had an average performance in the CBSE Class X board results declared today while the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya did exceedingly well like in previous years.

According to the information, Kendriya Vidyalaya of Udalguri was able to secure 85.29% pass in the overall result with only three candidates securing 80% and above, Dikshita Das being the highest scorer with 88.6 %. On the other hand, Maharshi Vidyalaya of Udalguri could come out only with 68.75% with Kirtiranjan Bhattarai being the highest scorer with 80%.

But the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya of Udalguri performed excellently this time too with cent percent success. JNV of Udalguri�s all 39 candidates passed with flying colours out of which six candidates secured 90% and above and the rest got A+ with Chayanika Sarmah being the topper with 95.4%.
