Ammo recovered

TURA, Nov 14 - Police in East Garo Hills today recovered ammunition, which is the third such seizure in less than a week in the Garo Hills districts.

The police said that information was received about the presence of arms near Nongchram Rongdu village, close to the border with West Khasi Hills. The area is about 9 km from the Rongjeng PS.

The weapons are suspected to have been hidden by the Garo National Liberation Army whose presence in the region has waned.

�A case has been registered in this regard and search operations are being carried out to recover more arms and ammunition,� added the release.
