JALUKBARI, May 2 - An ailing three-year-old male elephant which was found near a stream at Satargaon, Rani Reserve Forest yesterday, died at 4 am this morning.
A source in the Rani range office said, �Yesterday the elephant was spotted lying in a stream by the locals. All possible treatment was provided by the forest officials, but the elephant succumbed to its illness.�
A post-mortem was done on the carcass, which was later buried in a nearby place.
