AHRC notice to city school

MORIGAON, Feb 2 � The Assam Human Rights Commission issued notices to the Principal of Gurukul Grammar Higher Secondary School, Guwahati as well as the DC Kamrup (Metro) in connection with the mental torture on Navanita Das, a Class VIII student of the school inciting her to attempt suicide.

The Manab Adhikar Sangram Samity (MASS) filed a case in the Assam Human Rights Commission on February 2. The commission, in its notice, directed the DC Kamrup to submit the inquiry report in 30 days. This was disclosed by Bubumoni Goswami, chairman of the MASS at Morigaon in a press meet.
