ADB delegation meets Sonowal

GUWAHATI, Oct 29 - A two-member delegation of Asian Development Bank led by its senior water resources specialist Olivier Drieu met Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal at the latter�s office at Janata Bhawan here today.

The delegation discussed with the Chief Minister various flood and erosion protection schemes presently being implemented in Assam with financial aid from the banking behemoth.

During discussion, the delegation informed the Chief Minister that they were satisfied with the quality of flood and erosion protection works being implemented by the State water resources department and gave an assurance for continued support to the State government.

The delegation further informed that soon additional fund would be released to the water resources department for completing the schemes presently under implementation.
