JORHAT, Oct 31 - Noted mobile theatre actor of the State and a bhaona artiste Ramen Dutta breathed his last on Saturday at his residence at Potiyagaon here due to prolonged illness.
Dutta, who was 53, was actively involved in the cultural scene of the State for over past two decades and had acted in several plays directed by well-known literary and a cultural giant of Assam Late Dr Bhabendra Nath Saikia.
Dutta, a recipient of Moonlight Award, acted in dramas staged in Abahan, Hengul, Meghdoot, Mukanda, Bhaskar and Uddipan theatre groups of the State. He leaves behind his mother, a son and a host of relatives.
Dutta was associated with Kaliyani Nabajyoti Sankari Kala Kristi Kendra here. Several organisations and people mourned his demise that has cast a pall of gloom in the area.
