AIZAWL, Feb 13 - A four-member team of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has reached Kamalanagar on Wednesday to investigate the alleged cases of serious corruption committed by the CADC authority since 2008, MNF sources said.
Mizoram Governor Nirbhay Sharma directed the ACB to investigate the allegations leveled by MNF in a memorandum on November 13 last year.
A delegation of MNF on last November met Governor Lt Gen (Retd) Nirbhay Sharma in Aizawl and submitted a memorandum demanding immediate dissolution of the Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC) headed by Kali Kumar Tongchang for unabated corruption by the Executive Committee.
Among other charges, the allegations put forward include illegal appointment of 290 persons belonging to close relatives of Congress MDCs, irregular payment of salary to CADC employees, awarding of contract worth Rs 60.88 lakh to wife of former CEM Buddha Lila Chakma and misuse of huge amount of money amounting to lakhs of rupees.
