AASU�s Dimoria unit calls for check on price rise

JORABAT, July 28 - The Dimoria unit of All Assam Students� Union (AASU) has written to several committees controlling haats and other markets to ensure that prices of essential commodities like vegetables, fish, meat and eggs are under control.

�Prices of vegetables have shot up drastically in the region. The average price of all vegetables and other essentials has doubled or trebled,� rued Barasha Medhi, president of the unit.

Medhi asked the authorities to see to it that poorer sections are not affected by the spike in prices.

Meanwhile, conscious sections have alleged that the administration here has not taken appropriate steps to control the price hike.
