GUWAHATI, March 13 The All Assam Students Union today took out a cycle rally at all the district and subdivision headquarters of the State in protest against the governments failure to curb the prices of petroleum products and essential items including foodstuff.
In a statement the AASU said that the anti-people policies of both the Centre and the State government had been at the root of the unprecedented rise in the prices of essential commodities.
The hike in the prices of petrol and diesel caused a spiraling effect on prices of all other commodities. The government must rescind its decision on the prices of the petroleum products, the AASU said.
The AASU also lambasted the Chief Minister, saying that he had been extremely indifferent to the situation even as the common people were facing the heat.
