9 test positive in Meghalaya

SHILLONG, Aug 12 - Altogether nine persons tested positive for COVID-19 and seven patients recovered from the disease today. The number of active cases in Meghalaya stands at 642.

So far, 517 patients have recovered and six persons have succumbed to the virus in the State. Meghalaya�s overall COVID-19 tally now stands at 1,165 with most of the cases reported in East Khasi Hills district.

Currently, there are 433 active cases in East Khasi Hills, 92 in Ri-Bhoi, 16 in West Jaintia Hills, 82 in West Garo Hills, two in South West Garo Hills, 16 in West Jaintia Hills, three in West Khasi Hills, five each in North Garo Hills and East Jaintia Hills, and three in South Garo Hills. Till now, East Garo Hills has been free from COVID-19.
