8,000 sanitary pads distributed in city school

GUWAHATI, March 10 - The Rotaract Club of Guwahati Luit in association with Narayana Hrudalaya Superspeciality Hospital, Amingaon organised a seminar on menstrual hygiene under the #WeForHer2.0 initiative at Kaliram Barua Girls� High School and distributed 8,000 sanitary pads among 215 students.

The #WeForHer2.0 is an international project by Rotaract Club of Guwahati Luit & Siliguri Greater, which is being implemented in three countries � India, Nigeria and Bangladesh, and 47 cities, a press release stated today. The initiative aims to educate 6,000 underprivileged girls and distribute up to 80,000 sanitary pads. DP Bajaj, club president Saurav Jhunjhunwala, founder and chairman of the project, Tushar Jalan and chief matron of Narayana Hrudalaya, Pinaki Bhuyan attended the programme.
