56 teachers to be feted at Dhubri on Teacher�s Day

GAURIPUR, Sept 3 - All arrangements have been completed to felicitate 56 teachers for their outstanding contributions in the field of education this year at Dhubri on the occasion of the 57th Teacher�s Day.

In this context, a felicitation meeting will be held at the auditorium hall of the Dhubri District Library. Anantalal Gyani, DC and chairperson of the celebration committee will preside over the felicitation meeting. Prof Basiruddin Ahmed will be the chief guest. Abhinandan, the souvenir edited by Zakir Hussain, will also be released on the occasion. The teachers to be felicitated include those from the primary to college level and retired teachers. Hemlata Kakati, retired Principal, Chilarai College, Golakganj is the sole teacher from the college to be felicitated on the occasion.

Madhabdev tithi: The death anniversary of Mahapurush Shri Shri Madhabdev was observed at the historic Ramrai Kuti Satra situated along the Indo-Bangladesh border at Satrasal with a day-long programme.

After cleaning of the premises of the Satra, the bhakats performed morning prasanga. The womenfolk performed naam prasanga and thereafter the bapus of the Satra performed naam prasanga based on the Naamghosa written by Mahapurush Shri Shri Madhabdeva. In the evening, besides lighting of earthen lamps, thiya naam marked the conclusion of the tithi mahotsav.

The tithi of Mahahpurush Madhabdev was also observed on the premises of Gauripur Kirtanghar with a day-long programme. The tithi was also observed at Jinkata Satra and Haripur-Madhupur Satra situated at Haripur, North Bengal.
