44 all-women polling stations in Tinsukia dist

DOOMDOOMA, March 27 - Altogether 44 polling stations in Tinsukia district will be run entirely by women officials in the forthcoming Lok Sabha election to be held on April 11. Out of 44 polling stations, 30 stations are in Tinsukia sub-division, 10 in Sadiya and 4 in Margherita sub-division. The training for the women presiding and polling officers to be engaged in these polling booths, has already been completed.

Though the women-run polling booths in Tinsukia and Margherita sub-divisions are yet to be selected, 10 booths in Sadiya sub-division have already been selected, informed Biswajit Phukan, SDO (Civil), Sadiya and District Election Officer.

The women-run polling stations in Sadiya sub-division are � 2 Shantipur Government LP School (LW), 6 Shantipur LP School (RW), 2 Chapakhowa Town LP School, Chapakhowa Town ME School (RW), Chapakhowa Town ME School (LW), Sadiya Government H S School (RW), Sadiya Government HS School (MW), Chapakhowa Town Government LP School (RW), Chapakhowa Town Government LP School (LW) and Chapakhowa Gaon LP School.
