4 KNP staff among 8 held for poaching links

KOHORA, May 2 - In a major achievement, Jakhalabandha Police arrested eight persons, including four employees working under the State Forest Department, for their active involvement in poaching of rhinos in Kaziranga National Park since quite sometime now.

The arrested persons are Home Guard Keshav Gayan, Tonkeswar Bordoloi, Pinku Das and Kuddush Ali, all working at KNP and posted at Tunikati Forest Camp.

Others arrested include Sarab Ali, Rafique Ali, Saifur Ali and Ibrahim Ali.

According to sources, police gathered intelligence inputs from Sarab Ali of Deusur area, who was arrested and later confessed everything before the investigating agency.
