4 bandh activists held

JORHAT, Jan 10 - Golaghat police have arrested four persons for their alleged involvement in vandalising the Golaghat district BJP office during the bandh period on Tuesday.

A police source told this newspaper that four activists of different organisations have been arrested for their alleged role in the vandalisation of posters, banners and other materials in the BJP district office compound.

The arrested activists are Mohen Bora, general secretary of Chutia Satra Santha; Bidyut Saikia, general secretary of Chatra Mukti Sangram Samiti; Ashim Saikia, vice president of Chutia Satra Santha; and Rajib Laskar, organising secretary, Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Parisad, the source said.

They were arrested in connection with Golaghat Police Station Case number 20/2019 under Sections 448/427/353/379/436/500/34 of the IPC.
