32 pilgrims being brought from Kolkata by bus

GUWAHATI, May 7 - A total of 32 pilgrims and tourists staying at the Assam House, Kolkata after arriving from Odisha following their evacuation due to rough weather conditions after cyclone Fani hit the state, are being brought back to Assam by bus following the directions of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.

The tourists are being brought by bus after they expressed willingness to travel together by bus instead of train. The bus started at 3 pm on Tuesday from Kolkata towards Assam and the passengers are being accompanied by a public relations official of Assam House, Kolkata and a police official. Drinking water and medicines have been kept for the convenience and safety of the travellers, an official release said.
