SIVASAGAR,Feb 5 - Three youths were arrested and sent to jail on Monday evening by the district administration for uploading videos offensive enough to disrupt the law-and-order situation and public peace.

Following an incident of extortion and consequent scuffle between some youths and non-Assamese traders forcing them to down their shutters recently, tension prevailed in the historic temple township since January 20 last.

The situation improved later when the two parties arrived at an understanding. But the three, namely Shringkhal Chaliha and Situ Baruah of Lachit Sena and Yunish Tamuli, president of AAMSU of Sivasagar district, were arrested for intimidation and forceful collection of funds from a trader, Sivasagar Superintendent of Police Amitav Sinha told mediapersons.
