AIZAWL, Sept 23 - Mizoram Government and Hmar Peoples Convention (Democratic) would hold the second round of peace parleys during the first week of October here, HPC(D) delegation leader Lalthalien said.

The negotiations could not be resumed as agreed earlier during mid-September due to the tight schedule of the State Government officials, Lalthalien, a prominent church leader said.

The talks would mainly centre around demands of the Hmar militant outfit seeking greater autonomy and more power to Sinlung Hills Development Council (SHDC), Lalthalien said.

The first round of negotiations was held here on August 10 in which HPC(D) was represented by a delegation led by Lalthalien. PTI
