26 villages hit by floods in Bokakhat

KAZIRANGA, June 15 - The Diphlu river and its tributaries are maintaining a rising trend and causing damage to infrastructure like roads.

The Kaziranga-Bosapathar Road was damaged near the SPT bridge. Similarly, the road from Sabjuri to Balijan via Borbheta is submerged at different stretches along the route. Two HP culverts were washed away.

A total of 26 villages under Bokakhat subdivision have been affected by flash floods, including Korotali Gaon, Koilakhat Gaon, Lotabari Gaon, Hiljuri Gaon etc. One Sunil Murah died in Kakojan area under Bokakhat mouza. Around 18,000 people were adversely affected by the flood waters two days back. Approximately 195 hectares were submerged by the seasonal deluge, Government sources informed.
