SILCHAR, Oct 30 - AICC general secretary and observer of Congress in the State, Harish Rawat has termed the 2019 Lok Sabha elections as the mother of all elections.

Addressing party workers of Silchar District Congress Committee on Tuesday in the presence of APCC president Ripun Bora and Silchar MP-cum-All India Mahila Congress Committee chief Sushmita Dev, Rawat said, the BJP has divided the people of the country with its fake and illusive promises and it is time to unmask the misdeeds. The ensuing Parliamentary elections is the mother of all elections. The cadres must work to win all the 14 seats in the State.

Wooing the workers, Rawat said that if voted to power, Congress will work to turn Barak Valley into a trade hub with special emphasis on agro-based industries and send a befitting reply to the BJP which has shut the running paper mills in the State. He was quick to add that a high- level committee will be formed to cater to the needs of the tea garden community and the Congress will come up with a special proposal for the develooment of women labourers as well.

Taking a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his promises to provide jobs to youths, Rawat said that the Prime Minister has cheated the youths with his fake assurances and snached more than 1crore jobs instead of creating as per his poll promise. The Achche Din promise of Modi can be seen nowhere. I wonder if he has left the concept in Japan or China, mocked Rawat. Assuring that the Congress will kerp a close vigil on the proceedings of the NRC, Rawat condemned the termite comment uttered by BJP president Amit Shah.
