16-year-old girl tests positive for COVID-19 in Assam

GUWAHATI, April 28: A 16-year-old girl from Salmara, Bongaigaon, who was a secondary contact of a Nizamuddin Markaz attendee, has tested COVID-19 positive, Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Tuesday.

In a post on social media, the Health Minister said the number of COVID-19 patients in Assam now stands at 36.

A total of 27 patients have been discharged, and so the active number of hospital cases stands at 8, he posted.

One person has died due to COVID-19 infection so far in the state.
