HAILAKANDI, Oct 27 - The stage is all set for holding Gunotsav Phase-II in Hailakandi district from October 31.
Disclosing this, Inspector of Schools Rajiv Kumar Jha said the stage is all set for conducting the Government�s ambitious school assessment programme Gunotsav Phase-II in Hailakandi district from Wednesday.
Jha revealed that the programme will be conducted in 1,359 schools covering 84,588 students of Class-II to Class-IX. Of these schools, 15 have enrolment of more than 400 students.
Altogether, 510 external evaluators � 120 from Karimganj district, 226 from Cachar and 164 from Hailakandi district � together with 124 liaison officers will be conducting the assessment in these schools with assistance from 1,359 nodal teachers. The internal evaluation will take place on October 31, while external evaluation will be conducted from November 1 to 3.
Jha informed that Block-level training of liaison officers and nodal teachers, district-level evaluators orientation training and cluster-level teachers� meet have been already held. A day-long orientation of external evaluators with the liaison officers will be conducted soon, he added.
Besides Hailakandi, Gunotsav Phase-II will cover 16 districts of Assam.
It may be mentioned here that the first phase of Gunotsav was held in April last year in Hailakandi district and was placed 7th in the State-level evaluation. Gunotsav was held in 1,519 schools and 66,377 students were covered. Only 3% schools received �A�+ grade while 32% schools received �D� grade in the district. Assessment was done last year on four core areas, viz academic achievement of children from Class-II to Class-VIII, co-scholastic activities, availability and utilisation of school infrastructure and other facilities, besides community participation, etc.
