11 Manipur rebels arrested in Guwahati

GUWAHATI, Aug 19 (PTI) - In a major breakthrough, Guwahati Police today nabbed 11 top Manipur-based rebels, including a lieutenant colonel and two lady cadres from the city.

The United National Liberation Front (UNLF) rebels had rented houses in Dispur, Mathgharia and Geetnagar areas of the city, SSP PC Saloi said.

Based on Intelligence inputs, police raided all the hideouts and nabbed the ultras.

They are expected to be produced in court tomorrow.

Two gypsy vans, one satellite mobile sets, 20 mobiles, five laptops, five sophisticated cameras, about Rs 30,000 in cash and some arms and ammunition, were recovered from them.
