1 arrested after driver succumbs to injuries

JORABAT, March 11 - A driver today succumbed to his injuries following a fight with a fellow driver at a vehicle stand near the Jorabat tri-junction on Monday under the Byrnihat police outpost (Meghalaya).

According to locals, Arun Shah (35), a Tata Magic driver, was badly injured following an altercation with Deepak Narzary (38), after which he was rushed to GMCH in a critical condition.

Though the incident was not reported to the Meghalaya police, Jorabat (Assam) police today arrested Narzary after Shah died at the hospital.

Narzary was later handed over to the Byrnihat police. Police have registered an FIR in this regard.
