Guwahati, May 2: The Assam Assembly polls counting is currently underway for 126 seats in the State. The BJP-led NDA is competing against the Grand Alliance spearheaded by the Congress in Assam.

    Trends at 3:00 PM: BJP leading in 55 seats

    As of 3:00 PM, the Bharatiya Janata Party is leading in 55 seats while the Indian National Congress is leading in 28 seats. The AIUDF has established leads in 14 seats and Asom Gana Parishad is also leading in 11 seats. NDA alliance UPPL has managed to maintain a lead in 8 seats while UPA alliance BPF is maintaining a lead in 2 seats.

    Guwahati, May 2: After 9th round of counting, Ranjeet Kumar Dass BJP got 45425 votes, Santanu Sarma of Congress got 9819 votes and AGP's Pabindra Deka got 5822 votes at Patacharkuchi LAC.

    Guwahati, May 2: After the 8th round of counting in 42-Patacharkuchi LAC, BJP's Ranjit Kumar Dass has got 41,048 votes while Congress candidate Santanu Sarma got 7562 votes and AGP candidate Pabindra Deka secured 5106 votes.

    Guwahati, May 2: As of 2:00 PM, the Bharatiya Janata Party is leading in 59 seats while the Indian National Congress is leading in 26 seats. The AIUDF has established leads in 11 seats and Asom Gana Parishad is also leading in 11 seats. NDA alliance UPPL has managed to maintain a lead in 8 seats (+1 since 1 PM) while UPA alliance BPF is maintaining a lead in 3 seats.

    BJP leading in Dhemaji and Jonai

    Dhemaji, May 2: Ruling BJP has taken the lead in Assembly segments in Dhemaji district after completion of 6th round of vote counting. The BJP is leading opposition Congress by 13,659 votes in 113-Dhemaji (ST) LAC and by 20,679 votes in 114-Jonai (ST) LAC.

    The BJP candidate for Dhemaji Dr Ranoj Pegu was elected as MLA from the seat in the Assembly by-poll in 2017.

    In 114-Jonai (ST) LAC, Bhuban Pegu was elected from the seat as Sanmilita Gana Sakti backed Independent candidate in the last Assembly election. He joined the saffron party on the eve of this election.

    Pegu earlier represented the seat for the last two consecutive terms.

    Guwahati, May 2: After the 10th round of vote counting in 46-Sarukhetri LAC, Congress candidate Jakir Hussain Sikdar got 44984 votes, AIUDF candidate  M. Rahman got 26492 votes and Kalpana Patowary of AGP got 17053 votes.

    Guwahati, May 2: After 4th round of counting in 41-Bhawanipur LAC, AGP candidate Dr. Ranjit Deka got 4589 votes, AIUDF candidate Phani Talukdar got 2034 votes and Raijor Dal candidate Kamal Kumar Medhi got only 285 votes.

    Guwahati, May 2: After the 7th round of counting In 106 Sonari, BJP candidate Dharmeswar Konwar is leading by 9817 votes against Congress candidate Sushil Kumar Suri.

    In 105 Mahmora, after 7th round, BJP candidate Jugen Mohan is leading by 7228 votes against Suruj Dihingia of Congress candidate.

    Guwahati, May 2: After 7th round of counting in Patacharkuchi LAC, Ranjeet Kumar Dass from BJP got 35647 votes, Santanu Sarma of Congress got 7988 votes and Pabindra Deka of Asom Gana Parishad got 4719 votes.
