Guwahati, May 2: The Assam Assembly polls counting is currently underway for 126 seats in the State. The BJP-led NDA is competing against the Grand Alliance spearheaded by the Congress in Assam.

    As of 12:00 AM, the Bharatiya Janata Party has won 50 seats while its alliance AGP and UPPL have won 9 and 6 seats respectively. NDA wins a total of 65 seats in Assam Assembly elections.

    Silchar, May 02: In Udharbond constituency, with 61,745 votes, sitting MLA Mihir Kanti Shome has edged past the INC candidate and former minister who got 59,060 votes. The margin of votes was estimated to be 2,685 votes as per inputs received from sources at the Cachar District Administration.

    As of 11:00 PM, the Bharatiya Janata Party has won 42 seats and is leading in 17 seats while the Indian National Congress won 18 seats and is leading in 11 seats. The AIUDF has won 9 seats and established leads in 7 seats and Asom Gana Parishad has won 8 seats and is leading in 1 seat. NDA alliance UPPL has managed to win 6 seats while UPA alliance BPF won 3 seats and is leading in 1 seat.

The AIUDF has won 6 seats and established leads in 10 seats and Asom Gana Parishad has won 8 seats and is leading in 1 seat. NDA alliance UPPL has managed to win 5 seats and is maintaining a lead in 1 seat while UPA alliance BPF won 2 seats and is leading in 1 seat.

    As of 9:00 PM, the Bharatiya Janata Party has won 22 seats and is leading in 37 seats while the Indian National Congress won 7 seats and is leading in 23 seats. The AIUDF has won 4 seats and established leads in 14 seats and Asom Gana Parishad has won 5 seats and is leading in 5 seats. NDA alliance UPPL has managed to win 2 seats and is maintaining a lead in 4 seats while UPA alliance BPF won just one seat is leading in 2 seats.

    Silchar, May 02: In Karimganj district, sitting BJP MLA from Patharkandi constituency Krishnendu Paul got 73,472 votes as he won the seat leaving the INC candidate Sachin Sahu at 69,483 votes. Sitting Congress legislator Kamalakshya Dey Purkayastha won the North Karimganj seat yet again as he bagged 60,768 votes against BJP’s Dr Manash Das who got 52,505 votes.
