GUWAHATI, Oct 5 - Noted singer Zubeen Garg will be the brand ambassador of the UBC Football Gurukul which has been set up by the city based United Brothers Club (UBC) at the Panbari TE near Dhekiajuli.
In the closing function of the UB Challenge Football Championship at the Judges� Field here on Sunday, Jubeen, the hero of the State�s young generation, said he wants to do something for the development of the game of football in the State. He said as there are lots of football talents in Assam and the entire NE region, it is the duty for the organisers to support the talents and provide the required facilities so that they can hone their skills.
The singer also distributed the prizes to the champion team Duliajan XI after the final. Bhupen Gogoi of the winning team was adjudged best player of the championship. Durjay Brahma Narzary and Naresh Chetry of GTC were named as best goalkeeper and best defender of the tournament respectively.
